According to reports, director Ridley Scott approached Leonardo DiCaprio and Angelina Jolie to play the role of monarchs in his forthcoming film, Gucci. The film is about the Gucci fashion dynasty of the seventies and eighties. Jolie is slated to play Patrizia Reggiano, who was sentenced to 29 years in prison for plotting the murder of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci. Leonardo DiCaprio might be playing the role of Maurizio, the grandson of founder Guccio Gucci, who emerged as the winner of a bloody power struggle to run the family business. Leonardo DiCaprio has not yet been signed for the project.

The producers, Fox 2000, are planning to start shooting the film early next year.
